The Anonymous Letter of January 2020"

Shortly after the church's annual meeting in late January of 2020, I received an anonymous letter in the mail, apparently from a parishioner. Because it is likely that some of you may have similar questions and misconceptions of what is going on I have posted that letter along with my reply. I want to be clear that it is not my intention to disrespect the writer of the anonymous letter. The person asks valid questions and I suspect others may share his or her misconceptions as to the facts. I'm thankful the letter was sent to me.

I feel some of the confusion generated by this dispute come from both the church and me. I have put out a great deal of information that is complicated and difficult to digest. At the same time the church is putting out as little information as it can in the hopes that the case will be thrown out. They claim that I have no right to bring a suit questioning the misuse of restricted funds–claiming I am a "former parishioner." Between my "too much info" and the church's lack of info, much rumor, gossip and speculation ensues.

I hope you take the time to read the anonymous parishioner's letter and the response. My address and e-mail are on the savethechurchyard.org site. I'm available to answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability.
